Technology Platform for Advanced Engineering Materials and Technologies

Technology platforms are new mechanism, suggested at the same time from industry side and from EU and should define priorities in the development of technologies and research (RTD), time frame and budget on strategic most important areas, with the greatest social influence to ensure the formation of future RTD programmes in EU. TP will unite all partners on the same common vision and activities for realization defined with Strategic Research Agenda. Agenda will be realized partly with  existent documents, for the most ambitious agendas with new instruments. The system will be basis for 7th Framework Programme.

In the world of high-technology advanced materials play a critical role in competitivity of companies, safety, and environmental compliance. Materials have evolved dramatically, many advanced materials have been developed in response to industry’s increasing demands, bur these materials are still challenged by our  knowledge, of materials degradation, inadequate technologies, monitoring and predicting material performance, environmental and health impacts.

Objective of NaMaT is to assure optimal involvement of industry and other stakeholders in the process of establishing priorities in the area of advanced materials and technologies, to improve coherence in EU projects, and introduce radical changes and  sustainable development in the sector of advanced materials.
